Try New Things – Growth comes from change. Don’t be satisfied with the familiar just because it is comfortable.

Don’t Reinvent The Wheel – Not everything needs to be new. Start with a familiar foundation.

Tweak Existing Paradigms – Take something familiar and change just one thing. Add something, subtract something or just turn it to face a different way.

Mechanical Consistency – Avoid making special rules for ad-hoc situations. Be consistent throughout the rules about how mechanics are applied.

Thematic Consistency – All elements must fit into the world properly. Not everything will make the cut.

Fantastic Action Requires Fantastic Resources – Everything has a cost.

Avoid Paradigm Traps – Try to avoid getting caught in the existing paradigms of fantasy roleplay so much that flexibility and choice suffer.
